Description
Rosalie Gascoigne was born in 1917 in New Zealand and moved to Australia in 1943 where she settled in Canberra.
Gascoigne came to art late in her life and during her short 25 year career she never painted but she arranged. Gascoigne is best known for her evocative assemblages of retro-reflective road signs with the letters cleverly reworked. These became her trademark pieces, which are now highly sought after.
Gascoigne is represented in prominant worldwide public and private collections.
