Euan McLeod’s textured and sculptural use of paint is a prominent feature of his work. Described as both an expressionist and symbolist artist, a common feature is a lone figure within his work. This can be seen with the subtle ghosted figures in the foreground of this painting.
McLeod won both the Blake Prize for Religious Art in 2006 and the Gillipoli Art prize in 2009, he has also been a Wynne Prize finalist in 1998, 1999 and 2003. Euan McLeod is represented in prominent Australian and overseas public and private collections.
