This month I have asked Jason Martin, Director of the Flinders Street Gallery to choose his twelve favourite works from the Badger and Fox Gallery Collection.
I have been buying works for my personal collection from Jason for many years, we first met when Jason worked with Ray Hughes at his eponymous gallery, Jason is passionate about art and I always learn something new during our conversations over a glass of wine.
Flinders Street Gallery is around the corner from the Badger and Fox Gallery and a five minute walk from the National Art School and UNSW art and design. Jason loved his time at the National Art school thirty years ago and enjoys an ongoing connection, showing some of the incredible talent that emerges.
In addition to showing the works of emerging artists the gallery exhibits the works of Chinese and mid-career Australian artists, Jason also represents Adam Cullen’s Estate, with whom Jason was lucky enough to share a friendship.
The Flinders Street Gallery stages monthly exhibitions, holds stock and offers ongoing support to artists and collectors, if you subscribe to their mailing list you’ll know what’s happening every month.
